The scroll, a new direction for me, combines images of Vietnam with music, lyrics, and the English translation. While I tried to keep the translation as close to the original as possible, some of the meanings and ideas do not translate easily from Vietnamese into English and may sound a little awkward. The music, however, is from the original music sheets and I invite music enthusiasts to try out the tune. The piece is called 8 Diep Khuc (8 Refrains) and was composed in 1966 by Anh Viet Thu. It metaphorically speaks of the beauty of Vietnam and instills patriotism in its people. This is a large file and may take a few minutes to download.
